The military high command has apologised to the defense and interior committee of parliament for storming Ashiaman and brutalising civilians over the killing of a young soldier.
Over the weekend, a young soldier met his untimely death in Ashiaman, following which the military unleashed its full force in the quest to arrest the perpetrators.
Civilians were brutalised, battered , and bundled into military custody .
Chairman of the committee, Kennedy agyepong says the committee will visit Ashaiman together with the military on Thursday to assuage the pain meted out the people whiles investigations continue
The parliament’s defense and interior committee has in a closed door meeting today received a full briefing by the military high command on the military invasion in Ashiaman to fish out perpetrators of the murder of a soldier.
The invasion has been a subject of public discourse since its occurrence.
The minister for defense Dominic Nitiwul has urged for cool heads to prevail as investigations continue.
