Ghana’s entertainment world is abuzz with news as popular Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, fondly known as Lil Win, has announced his aspiration to vie for the Afigya Kwabere South parliamentary seat in the Ashanti Region.

This unexpected move comes after a groundswell of support from traditional leaders, influential figures, and constituents who believe in his leadership potential.

Lil Win shared his decision during an interview on Accra-based Okay FM, revealing that the call to enter politics began to surface in October 2022.

The requests were so persistent that they even reached his mother and other family members.

After much contemplation, the beloved actor has decided to take on the challenge and run as an Independent Candidate for the parliamentary seat.

The decision was not made lightly, as Lil Win expressed that he initially wasn’t inclined to pursue a political career.

However, the overwhelming support and encouragement from his community have persuaded him to heed their call.

According to Lil Win, the constituents have expressed their belief in his ability to lead effectively and make a positive impact on their lives.

One of the driving factors behind the constituents’ request is Lil Win’s notable contributions to the district, particularly through the establishment of his school, Great Minds.

Despite his role in the entertainment industry, the actor has managed to invest in education and support various residents in meaningful ways.

This track record has convinced the constituents that he has the potential to achieve even more if given the necessary resources and support.

“I wasn’t interested in the bid from the beginning, but now, I believe I have to respond to the call of my people,” Lil Win stated.

As the journey towards the parliamentary seat begins, all eyes will be on Lil Win to see how his entertainment background and commitment to his constituents will translate into his political endeavors.
