The National Road Safety Authority’s efforts to intensify public education on road safety in the Bono Region may be hindered due to inadequate funding.

Despite participating in the globally observed Road Safety Week, the Authority’s full obligations are facing major financial challenges.

According to Bono Regional Public Relations Officer, Mr. Gabriel Kwame Okyere, insufficient funds are limiting their ability to educate drivers and the public on road safety measures.

Speaking in an interview with Kaakyire Kwasi Afari on uniquenewsgh.com , Mr. Okyere acknowledged that the NRSA couldn’t organize a regional float with students and other stakeholders in Berekum as planned.

This, according to him, was a result of financial challenges at the National Road Safety Authority in the Bono Region.

However, Gabriel Kwame Okyere said that public education initiatives have been conducted with drivers at selected car stations within the region.

The regional PRO told uniquenewsgh.com  that in the coming days, the National Road Safety Authority in the Bono Region will visit public gathering spaces, including churches, mosques, car stations, and markets, to promote road safety awareness.

Gabriel Kwame Okyere, the Bono Regional Road Safety Authority, emphasized that ensuring road safety is a shared responsibility and urged the public to support the fight against road carnage.

He expressed concern over the 37.4% increase in road accidents in the Bono Region.

He encourages passengers to speak out against reckless driving to disallow drivers to endanger their lives and that of other road users while urging drivers to respect road safety regulations.

The regional PRO advises drivers to respect road safety regulations.
