One person has been confirmed dead, with 30 others sustaining critical injuries, following a head-on collision involving two commercial vehicles at Ejisu Krapa in the Ashanti Region.
The accident occurred when a Ford vehicle and a Toyota Hiace minibus crashed under circumstances described by witnesses as severe.
The vehicles involved were a Ford with registration number AW 3264-21 and a Toyota Hiace with registration number AS 3552-20.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the Toyota Hiace, which was travelling towards Kumasi, reportedly lost control while speeding and rammed into the Ford vehicle that was heading from Kumasi towards Ejisu.
The accident caused extensive damage to both vehicles and left many of the occupants seriously injured. Among those affected were two senior high school students who were on their way to school at the time of the crash.

All the injured passengers were rushed to Living Waters Hospital for medical treatment, where one victim was pronounced dead on arrival.
An eyewitness told our news team that several passengers suffered broken limbs.
“Many of the passengers were injured, some with broken hands and legs. All the seats in the car were damaged.”
Confirming the unfortunate incident to Akoma news, the Medical Director at the Living Waters Hospital, Dr Gabriel Sakyi Kwofie, said a total of 31 passengers were brought to the facility.

He confirmed that one person has died, while the remaining victims are currently on admission and receiving treatment.
He added that two students are among the injured passengers and are responding to treatment.
