Senior Lecturer at the Political Science Department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr Richard Amoako Baah has descended heavily on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, accusing him of being behind the seeming disintegration of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said President Akufo-Addo has lost the plot and left the NPP and the country corrupt in every aspect.
“They want money, yes I know,” the former NPP National Chairman aspirant noted on TV3‘s Ghana Tonight on Tuesday, September 26.
“They want money because they are not voting. They are buying. Auction. Vote buying. We know it. Nana Addo was there at Assin North, we saw it.
“Don’t come and tell me there is no vote buying. He is the president, the Number One doorkeeper. He is in charge. He is in the front doing this? What are we doing? He wants to kill the country and save your party? Is that what he wants? What is the point of your party coming forth when the country is dead?
“The country has become corrupted in every aspect of a lie. Everything. No morals. Nothing. Everybody is looking for money.”
Dr Amoako Baah became very sentimental when asked about the resignation of former member Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.
Mr Kyerematen, who has served the NPP since 1992 albeit resigning briefly in 2008, announced his resignation on Monday, September 25.
He also declared his intention to contest the 2024 elections as an independent presidential candidate.
Addressing some supporters and journalists at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, Mr Kyerematen said the NPP he joined in 1992 seems to have been hijacked by some party apparatchiks and elders.
Dr Amoako Baah says he feels the same.
“All the young people are misbehaving,” he said, although he singled out the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong
