AGOGO: FOUR MEN JAILED FOR PUSHING STICK INTO ANUS OF A 16-YEAR OLD BOY

A Juaso Circuit Court has sentenced an 80 year old man Francis Obeng Amoako to a one year prison sentence..

The Court presided over by Her Honour Nana Asantewaa Attakora said but for the age and health condition of the man a much higher sentence would have been slapped on him..

It would be recalled that a then 79-year old man, Mr. Francis Obeng Amoako and five others at Agogo, Asante Akim North in the Ashanti Region were arrested on 12th July 2021 for inserting a stick into the anus of a 16- year old teenage boy suspected to have stolen from a shop belonging to one of them.

The six people including the 79-year old man grabbed the teenage boy, tied both hands to his back, tied his legs and beat him mercilessly after which they removed his boxer shorts and forcefully inserted a stick into his anus as well as taking video of the incident.

The District Police Command of Agogo took immediate action on the viral video and were able to identify six (6) people and arrested them to assist investigation.

The accused persons were Mr. Francis Obeng Amoako, 79, Akwasi Marfo (Boat), 24, Boakye Dankwah, 65, Osei Bonsu, 53, Prince Asadu, 26, and a 30-year old Obeng Mensah.

On 2nd February, 2023, the Juaso Circuit Court presided over by Her Honour Nana Asantewaa Attakora, freed two of the accused-Obeng Mensah and Osei Bonsu on the reason that though they were captured in the video, investigations proved that they did not take part in the act.

The remaining four were handed varying degrees of jail sentences.

Mr. Francis Obeng Amoako (now eighty[80]) was sentenced to one year imprisonment due to his age and health condition, but two others, Akwasi Marfo (Boat) and Prince Asadu were handed down five years imprisonment each for abetment to the act.

Mr. Boakye Dankwah was slapped six months imprisonment for hitting the boys head with his keys but failed to ask them to stop the commission of the crime.

The victim (name withheld) is in a good health condition now
