Commuters who ply the Atimatim-Maase road, one of the major link roads within the Afigya Kwabre South District, have called on the government to fix their roads.

The commuters made this call during a visit by uniquenewsgh news reporter Kwame Baffoe Agyekum.

Following recent heavy downpours, portions of the road have been washed away by flood waters leaving its trail with huge potholes.

Some of these potholes have deteriorated over time to become gullies. This has further deteriorated the road, making it unmotorable.

In order to avoid the submerged sections of the road, motorists are forced to drive on the shoulders of the road exposing road users to danger.

Commuters could not hold back their frustration over the poor condition of the road. They say the roads have been left unattended for years now.

” whenever it rains,w don’t have any option rather than to wait until the rain stopped to allow the flooded erosion to drain for some hours before we can go to our various destinations. We appealed to the president through our member of parliament hon. Owuraku Aidoo to construct the deplorable network for us”.

Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive of Afigya Kwabre South, Hon. Adu-Poku Christian, has revealed that most of these deplorable roads within the district have been awarded to a Contractor, and work is expected to commence this month (April).

” I appealed to my people to exercise patience because soon the road will see a facelift “.
