A/R:CHIEF DE-STOOLED IN ALLEGEDLY AIDING SOME NOMADIC HERDSMEN IN CRIMINAL ACTS

President of the Ejura Traditional Council Barima Osei Hwedie II, has de-stooled one of his subjects for his alleged role in aiding some nomadic herdsmen linked to violent crimes in the area.

The action against the sub-chief of Miminase #2 Nana Obiri Yeboah on Sunday, follows his failure to report the influx of nomadic herdsmen in his jurisdiction, whose activities have exposed inhabitants to serious security threats.

Barima Osei Hwedie II after a public forum directed the local Zongo Chief, Assemblyman and Imam to be caretakers of the community until a new subchief is named.

The traditional ruler has further issued a one week ultimatum to the herdsmen to relocate with their animals or face forceful eviction.

This action came as result of police officer who was allegedly murdered by some suspected armed robbers in  the Ejura-sekyeredumase Municipality .

The Police have arrested one suspected  armed robber and are pursuing his accomplices for the murder of a male adult later identified as a Police officer.

The suspect, Salifu Adams, and his gang of robbers attacked the victim on 25th November, 2022 between Miminaso no.2 and Nyamebekyere on the Ejura Nkoranza road in the Ashanti region.

The name of the deceased is being withheld until his family is formally notified of his demise, In line with standard operating procedure and in respect for Ghanaian tradition.

The suspect is in custody and will be arraigned before the court to face justice.

The manhunt for the remaining suspects has also been intensified and surely get them arrested.
