PUBLIC ADVOCATES TO VOTE ON ISSUES, ASOKWA NCCE

The Asokwa Municipal National Commission for Civic Education Directorates has organized a parliamentary candidate dialogue for two political party candidates from the incumbent New Patriotic Party and the opposition National Democratic Party in the Asokwa Constituency on Wednesday,  November 20, 2024, at Asokwa Emmanuel Presbyterian Conference Hall.

The dialogue will showcase their visions and issue-based campaign messages and persuade voters to vote in the upcoming general elections on December 7.

The two parliamentary candidates are the incumbent Member of Parliament for the NPP, Hon. Patricia Appiagyei, and Mr Amoh Kamel, who is on the ticket of the opposition NDC.

Mr. Nataniel Tweneboah Kodua, the Asokwa Municipal Director of NCCE, stated in an interview with Akoma News that one of the NCCE’s core mandates is to provide platforms for parliamentary candidates to outline their visions to the public and why they should be elected as members of Parliament.

 

“NCCE researched matters of concern to Ghanaian voters, identifying six fundamental pressing issues on which voters will base their decision-making on election day. The key indicators are health, employment, agriculture, economy, education, and road and infrastructure,” Mr. Tweneboah Kodua stated.

He also stated that the NCCE will continue to advocate for peace during and after the December 7 general election and for eligible voters to exercise their franchise without fear or intimidation.

“We want everyone to participate in the elections peacefully to help strengthen the country’s peace, rather than through violence.”

He indicates that during his tenure of office as a member of Parliament for Asokwa Constituency, if elected, he will lobby for the Nursing and Midwifery College, apprentice program initiative, Care for the Aged initiative, and youth welfare program to help transform the entire constituency.

Mr.Amoh Kamel, the NDC parliamentary candidate who attended the dialogue, outlined his vision for the people, stating that if elected, he will prioritize the needs of his constituents.

“I will use my MP common fund to facilitate these initiatives to see the lamplight as a member of Parliament elect,” Mr. Amoh Kamel stated.

Unfortunately, the incumbent member of Parliament, who is also a parliamentary candidate, Hon Patricia Appiagyei, was unable to attend the parliamentary dialogue program organized by the Asokwa municipal NCCE directorate due to her 7th Parliament duties.
