Frantic rescue operations are underway to recover bodies, if any, trapped under a three-storey church building in Bortianor in the Greater Accra Region.
The Word in Action Church building collapsed on Tuesday, May 9.
There are fears some church members were in the building when the disaster struck.
Seven people have so far been rescued with injuries while one is said to be in critical condition
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service were spotted at the scene.
Colleagues from the Ghana National Fire Service and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) also came to the ground to help with rescue efforts.
Initial assessment of the collapsed church building at Bortianor by the engineering council Ghana has attributed the collapse to porous concrete works.
This is about the third building collapse in the Greater Accra Region in a spate of one week.
