You will be my priority – Mahama assures local poultry farmers

(NDC), John Dramani Mahama has criticized the government for its handling of the poultry industry.

In the view of Mr. Mahama, the poultry sector is currently on its knees. with local farmers bearing the brunt of the hardship.

Speaking at a public engagement in Wenchi as part of his Building Ghana Together tour, John Mahama, accused the Akufo-Addo administration of abandoning the previous government’s policy to reduce poultry importation.

He assured that an NDC administration is the only government that can rescue the industry when it comes to power in 2024.

“A lot of NPP financiers are poultry importers; therefore, they do not want to reduce poultry importation.

“We in the NDC are not poultry importers; we will prioritize local poultry farmers, and so we will do what we can to improve your work,” he said.
