The former Attorney General and Minister of Justice and New Patriotic Party flagbearer aspirant, Joe Ghartey, has officially declared his intention for the presidential primaries.
He did so on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in his constituency, Essikado Ketan in the western region amidst a rousing welcome by some constituency youth.
Should the launch proceed with the picking of a form to contest the primaries, it will be the second time he is contesting the race.
Joe Ghartey placed third in the last race.
The launch of the presidential bid is part of a nationwide tour by the Essikado Ketan MP on the theme, “Tour Of Hope And Unity”.
The five term MP for the Essikado Ketan constituency believes the country can be transformed immensely by paying attention to the country’s railway sector and education.
The western regional New Patriotic Party secretary, Okatakyie Amankwaa Afrifa who was present at the launch says, the several capacities honorable Joe Ghartey has served in the party and the country at large will play a pivotal role in his chances to win the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.
According to him, it will be the prayer of people of western and western north regions to have Joe Ghartey emerge as victor this time round in the pending primaries.
