WN/R: AOWIN NPP ELECTION DISTURBANCE: 14 SUSPECTS GRANTED BAIL

The 14 suspects in the Aowin NPP constituency elections disturbances have been granted bail by the Enchi Magistrate Court.

The Enchi Magistrate Court presided over by His Worship Lawrence Buenor Bue has granted bail for the 14 suspects arrested in connection with disturbances at the NPP’s Constituency elections at Aowin, Enchi in the Western North Region.

The Police on Wednesday arrested 14 persons for threatening to disturb the re-run of some positions in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Constituency Executive Elections at Enchi in the Western North Region.

The suspects were arrested when they invaded the house of one of the candidates in the election to threaten her and also intimidate others before the elections.

After a search of the suspects, the police retrieved one locally manufactured pistol, an electric shocker, pepper spray, 5 jackknives, and a knife.

However, the Enchi Magistrate has granted bail of GH¢50,000.00 and two sureties each to the suspects.
