The former Agric minister Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto has pledged to be guided by the NPP constitution in his campaign*

He has maintained to be positive, modest and constructive in his pronouncements as far as campaigning is concerned.

Dr Afriyie Akoto addressing the NPP election committee after filling his nomination expressed a keen interest in peace of the party and promised to be guided by the party’s constitution.

He underscored the need for all aspirants to campaign on policies instead of attacking opponents to destroy the party’s chances of breaking the 8.

“We can’t break the 8 with half leg, we need full legs and stronger limbs to win power come 2024”.

I am a true patriot who has worked unflaggingly and deserves to lead NPP, he expounded.

Dr Afriyie Akoto was optimistic about winning the NPP flagbearer ship race and subsequently become the next president of the Republic of Ghana.

He opined that he transformed the Agric sector as a minister and NPP delegates especially the farmers would reward him.

Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko successfully also filed his nominations this morning.

However Former Trades and Industry Minister Kofi Konadu Apraku who was the first to be at the party office this morning to file his forms had to reschedule the date due to some incomplete forms.

But in a swift move, he returned to the party office with the anomaly corrected.

He said when elected and becomes President he would ensure a competitive election of the regional minister.
