A 27-year-old young man, identified as Prince Yoma has been arrested by the police in Sehwi for shooting a motorbike rider he boarded in a bush.
The report indicated that the suspect hired the motorbike rider, Charles Bosompim from Sehwi Essase, a farming community in the Akontombra district to alight him at Sehwi Ahibenso in the Bodi district.
“On their way home the suspect told the motorbike rider to stop and follow him into the bush to collect his transportation fee from his colleagues who are into illegal mining just a few distance.
Whilst moving, Prince Yoma pulled a locally manufactured pistol and shot at the neck of the motorbike rider, Charles Bosompim fell down and pretended dead. Prince Yoma, after seeing Charles ‘dead’, sat on him and smoked rolls of cigarettes”.
According the report,he left his pistol and other items belonging to him at scene .After he had gone, Charles Bosompim, the victim managed to get up and called for help but fortunately, he saw some farmers around and they came to his rescued .
The case was reported to the police and subsequently laid an ambush to arrest the suspect.
Charles Bosompim was sent to the hospital at Sehwi Juaboso but later referred to Asafo and Komfo Anokye Teachings Hospital. Sources indicate that he is responding treatment.
The suspect is currently in police custody at Bodi while the investigation is ongoing. The motorbike, two Ghana cards, a pistol and other items were retrieved from the suspect.
