The private legal practitioner and outgone legal director of the NDC legal team, Lawyer Abraham Amaliba has lashed out at the Ghana Bar Association as a toothless bulldog in the country’s legal fraternity.
He describes them as a toothless bulldog who cannot speak for the vulnerable.
“We knew the bar to be protective of the voiceless, marginalized, and downtrodden, Ghana Bar has abandoned all these”.
According to him, the Ghana Bar Association should have spoken on current military brutality at Nima but refused to comment.
“Ndc next level was to begin to make statements in support of these people in society, that was going to be our next step, Lawyer Amaliba stated.
Mr. Amaliba admonished the NDC lawyers to fill the gaps which the Ghana Bar Association as the mother association was not able to do.
He says the Ghana Bar Association always discriminates against NDC lawyers at the bench and favors NPP Lawyers.
“The bar in my view has become a toothless bulldog, The president of the bar last time said that they don’t discriminate against NDC lawyers but I think they discriminate in favor of NPP lawyers, They may not discriminate against us but discriminate in favor of the NPP lawyers, I want the President of the bar to here this, Lawyer Amaliba disclosed.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the NDC’s 3rd annual lawyers conference in Akosombo, Abraham Malibu says the lawyers must give responsible rivalry to the GBA.
