UW/R: 20-year-old sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment for stealing

A 20-year-old man, Nawaf Abdulai, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the theft of two motorbikes in the Upper West Region.

Abdulai and his accomplice, Awal Abass, who remains at large, stole a Haojue and a Luojia motorbike, with registration numbers M-21-449 UW and M-17-4607 UW, on March 6, 2025.

The Upper West Regional Police swiftly responded to the crime, leading to Abdulai’s arrest at his home on March 8, 2025. During questioning, Abdulai confessed to the robbery. His case was later brought before the Wa Circuit Court.

On April 7, 2025, His Lordship Jonathan Avoogo, presiding over the court, sentenced Abdulai to 15 years in prison for his involvement in the crime.

The Regional Police Command praised the efforts of both their officers and the public for their cooperation and professionalism in resolving the case.
