Using ‘African time’ as an excuse for lateness is disrespectful, says Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw

Veteran Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw has spoken out against the pervasive culture of lateness, commonly referred to as “African time

She emphasized that tardiness is unprofessional and disrespectful to others, and she encouraged a shift towards punctuality and respect for other people’s time.

In a post on X, Kate Henshaw expressed her strong disapproval of lateness and the common justification of “African time” in African cultures.

 

In her post, she wrote, “There is nothing like ‘African time.’ You are disrespectful and rude!! If it comes to money matters, I will be very early or have an embassy appointment! Miss me with that attitude. I detest tardiness.”

 

Kate Henshaw, also known as Kate Henshaw-Nuttall, is a veteran Nigerian actress who loves her exceptional acting skills. In 2008, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the movie Stronger than Pain.
