TEACHER UNIONS FAILED TO CALL OFF STRIKE AFTER CRUNCH MEETING WITH GOV’T

The ministry of employment and labour relations has failed for the second time to compel disgruntled teacher unions to call off their strike..

The meeting between the two feuding parties has been adjourned to Tuesday November 8..

The meeting spanned more than four hours.

Deliberations were held behind closed doors.

After the meeting ,the president of GNAT Rev Isaac Owusu was confident their concerns will be addressed by close of day tomorrow.

He said , both parties had constructive discussion about their grievances which made them declared the industry strike but they couldn’t conclude, the meeting adjourned to Tuesday,08-11-2022 for its continuity.

Meanwhile ,deputy minister of employment and labour relations Bright Wireko was emphatic the concerned of the teachers will be dealt with.

He says the government will still consult with the teacher unions to come to consensus by tomorrow’s meeting .

The strike by the aggrieved teacher unions is still on.
