Renowned Kenyan Speaker and Activist Prof. Lumumba has described Ghana as the Political Mecca of Africa and for that matter, if Ghana gets her actions, governance, and economy right, Africa in general would get it right.
He said meritocracy has been taken over by mediocrity where persons whose animals would not allow them to lead them are now leading humans.
Prof. Lumumba was speaking at the 10 Atta Mills Commemorative Lecture as the Guest Speaker at KNUST.
The world-acclaimed speaker also stated that the footprints of a successful leader is not seen in the longevity one serves but in how well one served.
He said Atta Mills served for three years and some months but his legacies live on.

He noted it was only through quality leadership that Ghanaians and Africans can compete with countries like China, India etc.
Former President John Dramani Mahama who was also at the event extolled the virtues of John Atta Mills.
He said he was a man of peace, integrity and very modesty.
He allowed institutions to work and didn’t shield persons in his government perceived to be corrupt or needed millions to survive.
Still, at the event, Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah asked all Ghanaians to shun their political spectacles and criticize all governments objectively
He notes if Ghana sinks, all Ghanaians will sink devoid of their political colouring.

He extolled the integrity of the Late Former President who he described as a peaceful person which was evident to all Ghanaians.
On her part, Vice Chancellor of KNUST Prof. Rita Dickson said the late President was compassionate and sought for the development of the country.
She asked Ghanaians to shun political differences and work for a better Ghana.
