President Akufo-Addo has charged the Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture to devise effective marketing strategies to attract some one million domestic and international visitors to the renovated Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.
The president gave the charge at the commissioning of the 30 million cedis redeveloped Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, in Accra.
The picturesque beauty of a 10.8 ft. bronze statue of the legendary pan-Africanist and former President Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah is the first to attract the attention of any first-time visitor to the renovated edifice.
The sight of beautiful statues of hornblowers with a fountain surrounded by trees is one exciting view to behold.
The park also has a personal museum of Dr. Nkrumah and an imposing museum where his mortal remains and that of his wife, Fathia are interred.
An Amphy-theatre, a gift shop and a restaurant complete the well-designed outlook of the redeveloped memorial park.
President Akufo-Addo asked the Ministry of tourism arts and Culture to work assiduously to ensure the park attracts more than the nine thousand visitors it was attracting prior to the renovation.
He again tasks the ministry to focus on developing domestic tourism to enhance economic development.
President Akufo Addo also outlined efforts to improve the conditions of museums and tourist sites across the country.
