President Akufo-Addo has conferred national honours on some 19, 557 front line health workers who distinguished themselves during the peak of the covid 19 pandemic.
The President said their efforts prevented what could be described as a major calamity on the country.
The 19, 557 health workers include, front line health workers, nurses, doctors and laboratory technicians Across the country.
President Akufo-Addo lauded their efforts and encouraged other citizens to emulate their examples for national development.
Amongst the awardees were Ashanti Regional Health Director Dr Emmanuel Tinkorang who won the order of Volta,Member, Strategic Leadership.
The Ashanti Regional Health Promotions Officer Felix Frempong who was awarded Covid-19 Operational Excellence Awards for Risk Communication (Grand Medal)
The Ghanaian legal team who represented the country at the international tribunal for the law of the sea in a dispute between Ghana and the ivory coast were also honoured.
President Akufo-Addo again lauded their efforts.
The 2023 national honours and awards is a special edition mainly dedicated to honour health workers who played major roles during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
