The police have arrested a self-styled man of God in his room at Buduburam in the Gomoa East district in an attempt to use six okada boys for alleged rituals.
According to the report, the suspect, whose name was given as ‘Major’, has bought an okada for the victims to work with, and he invited them to his house around 11 am for a meeting.
The report says the suspect was allegedly plotting with three other men, who are junior pastors, to use the boys for rituals.
In an interview with the victims, they said the suspect, ‘Major’, invited them to hold a meeting with them, saying some of the riders don’t bring their sales.
They said the suspect forced them to remove their dresses as he brought some pot containing toffees and blood from what he called ‘his secret room’ and forced them to eat.
They said they were beaten by the suspect, who threatened to harm anyone who attempted to go against his orders.
As they were shivering in the room, one of them got the courage to escape, and he went to call the police to come and rescue them from the self-styled pastor.
The suspect has been arrested.
Meanwhile, the assemblyman for the Buduburam Electoral Area, Hon. Emmanuel Dogbe, has condemned the incident, calling on the police to thoroughly investigate it and deal with the suspect if he is found guilty.
