Two people arrested in connection with a disturbance caused by two youth groups, Pankrono and Adabraka, in the Ashanti region on October 19 have been remanded in police custody by the Tafo Circuit Court.
They were charged with rioting and unlawful destruction of property.
They will reappear in court on November 1.
A third suspect was arrested by the police on Monday, October 23.
The violent clash was sparked by the death of one Owusu Banahene, who was stabbed on Wednesday evening, October 18, by some youth suspected to have come from Adabraka.
The Pankrono youth launched a reprisal attack on Adabraka the next day, causing the destruction of properties.
A team of police personnel has since been deployed to the two communities to avert retaliatory attacks.
The Old Tafo Municipal Security Council has been meeting with opinion leaders as part of its fact-finding mission to bring lasting peace to the area.

The arrests were made in response to an unfortunate occurrence that occurred on Wednesday, October 18, evening at the Pankrono public restroom and resulted in the death of one Kwame Owusu, a local resident.
Following the strange death of an electrician at Pankrono in the Tafo-Pankron Municipality, Ashanti region, named Kwame Owusu on Thursday, October 19, 2023, the suspects were reportedly detained by the Tafo Divisional Police Command.
