ONE MILITARY OFFICER INJURED, POLICE APPREHEND ADDITIONAL 10 SUSPECTS

The police have apprehended 10 more suspects in connection with violent attacks across the country.

According to the police, it has recorded several incidences of lawlessness across the country and warned it may be forced to apply force to stop the violent attacks on offices by alleged supporters of the opposition NDC.

The police have also indicated that they are working with the Ghana Armed Forces to restore law and order in certain parts of the country.

Among them was the attack on Ghana gas offices, Ghana ports, the Harbour Authority, and the passport office, where people massed up demanding jobs;

The police were also able to disperse crowds who massed up at cantonments in the afternoon.

Addressing journalists in Accra, Police Director of Public Affairs Grace Ansah Akrofi said there was an instance
where alleged NDC supporters broke into the police station and freed some suspects. The police are on a manhunt for the freed suspects.

According to the police at the Ghana Gas office, the security came under attack, leading to one soldier sustaining varying degrees of injuries.

The police have further warned such
Supporters should desist from attacking offices and ransacking individuals’ homes, assuring that the police have so far not used any firearms in the process of dispersing crowds but will not hesitate to do so should the situation escalate.

The latest arrest brings to 107 the number of suspects arrested since the December 7 elections.
