One person has been confirmed dead following the collapse of a 3-story building at Nmai Dzorn, near Ashaley Botwe, in the Greater Accra Region.
The deadly disaster happened on Thursday with rescue operations said to have located the body of the deceased on Friday, May 5.
It is unclear what caused the building’s collapse but eyewitnesses said there were workers in there when it occurred.
One other person, who escaped from the rubble, was rushed to the hospital.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Ghana Police Service, and Adentan Municipal Assembly helped in the rescue operation.
The deceased was said to have been trapped in the rubble until sniffer dogs were brought on-site by the military to locate his body.
The deceased, 40, left behind a wife and two children.
His family were at the scene when his body was recovered.
He hails from Volta Region, where his mum and dad are based.
Officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation
(NADMO) have since cordoned off the area.
