The police in the Offinso North district of the Ashanti Region are on a manhunt for a 30-year-old mason called Shadrack, aka Kwaata, for allegedly killing three people, his girlfriend, and a two-week-old baby at Asuoso in the Offinso North district of the Ashanti Region.

The other victim is said to be the suspect’s four-year-old stepson.

The suspect, Shadrack, according to the residents, murdered his girlfriend Portia Yerebe, 25, and later poisoned four-year-old Nti Joseph and the two-week-old child.

The sad incident occurred on Monday, January 29, 2024.

According to the report, Shadrack was fighting with the girlfriend on a Sunday night, and he asked the wife to evacuate from the house to a different place, but the lady resisted.

On Monday morning, the mother of the late Portia Yerebe visited the house to bathe the newborn baby but realized that their door was locked.

She returned in the evening to check on them again, only to find the room still locked. Sensing danger, the mother informed some opinion leaders in the community and broke into the room.

The opinion leaders saw the lifeless bodies of the three deceased people after they forcefully entered the room and immediately informed the police.

Shadrack is alleged to have killed Portia Yerebe with a sharp object, as her body was seen with severe cuts on the neck and blood oozing from the cut.

The two children were also seen with foam on their mouths, indicating a case of possible poisoning.

Meanwhile, the suspect, Shadrack, aka Kwaata, is currently on the run.

The police have conveyed the bodies to the Nkenkaasu government hospital for autopsy and preservation.
