Flag bearer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2024 general elections, John Dramani Mahama, has began a two-day visit to the Bono region.

He is expected to visit all the 12 constituencies of the region over the two days to campaign directly and interact with branch and constituency executives of the NDC as well as confirming his decision to contest the NDC presidential primaries scheduled for 13th May, 2023.

Former President Mahama is being accompanied on the tour by the Convener of the John Mahama Campaign Professor Joshua Alabi, former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, Campaign Spokesperson Joyce Mogtari, Members of Parliament, former NDC appointees, Regional, Constituency and Branch Executives of the party.

The 2020 NDC presidential candidate visited Wenchi, Tain, Jaman North and South, Berekum East and West constituencies on the first day of his tour.

Speaking on his intention of the primaries, John Mahama said his decision is in response to calls from his party and that Ghanaians are yearning for his come-back to rescue the nation from her predicament.

He noted among others that it will only take an experienced leader to fix the country of the mess being created by the NPP administration led by H. E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, and for that matter he is rightful person job.

Therefore he asserted that he is coming before the party’s delegates in all humility, for him to be giving the nod to lead the NDC to win power in 2024.
