Kumi Yeboah Memorial Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), has extended a significant lifeline to the Edwenase Rehabilitation Centre in the Ashanti Region with the donation of food and essential items valued at GH¢30,000, alongside additional cash support, to improve the welfare of persons living with disabilities at the facility.
The donation, made on Saturday, December 20, 2025, brought much-needed relief to more than 150 residents who depend on the centre for daily meals, care, and necessities, particularly during the Christmas season when operational demands increase.
Items presented included bags of rice and sugar, assorted soft drinks, canned milk, cooking oil, detergents, toiletries, and boxes of biscuits.

In addition to the items, the foundation also presented an undisclosed amount of cash in an envelope to support the centre’s operational needs.
Presenting the donation on behalf of the foundation, the Public Relations Officer, Mr Shadrach Osei Bonsu, said the gesture reflected the organisation’s commitment to compassion, inclusion, and social responsibility.

He urged the management and staff of the centre to ensure that the donated items and cash support are used strictly for their intended purposes, particularly for the benefit of the children and other residents.
He noted that transparency and accountability in the utilisation of the support would encourage the foundation to sustain its humanitarian interventions at the centre and in other vulnerable communities.
Management of the Edwenase Rehabilitation Centre expressed sincere appreciation to the Kumi Yeboah Memorial Foundation for the timely support and assured the NGO that all donated items and cash would be applied solely for their intended purposes.

They pledged to uphold transparency in the management of the support received.
The House Master of the centre, Mr. Ofori Kwabena, described the donation as timely and impactful, noting that the facility continually faces feeding and logistical challenges due to the large number of residents under its care.
“With over 150 persons depending on us daily, this support is not only helpful but truly lifesaving,” he said, while appealing to other NGOs, corporate organisations, philanthropists, and well-meaning Ghanaians to support the centre.
The Kumi Yeboah Memorial Foundation was founded by Mrs. Sarah Baah-Afriyie, also known as Baah-Donkor, in memory of her late father, Kumi Yeboah. Over the years, the NGO has supported cancer patients at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and assisted widows, persons with disabilities, and needy students, while consistently advocating for health, dignity, and social inclusion.

The foundation’s intervention at the Edwenase Rehabilitation Centre underscores the vital role non-governmental organisations continue to play in complementing government efforts to support vulnerable populations and strengthen social welfare systems.
