Kumasi: Another housemaid charged for killing mistress

The Ghana Police Service says it has completed investigations into the case of a housekeeper accused of murdering her madam at Ayigya in the Ashanti region.

Police prosecutors told the Asokwa District Court that a duplicate docket had been sent to the Attorney-General’s office for advice.

22-year-old Marku Kuami was arrested, charged and prosecuted for killing her mistress, Margaret Oppong, in the Kumasi suburb of Ayeduase on December 22, last year.

The 85-year-old, until her death, was domiciled in the US.

Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned to February 2.

The family of the deceased say they are disturbed by the sudden demise of their mother and have vowed to pursue the case in the interest of justice.
