The policeman who has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend has pleaded not guilty.

Inspector Ahmed Twumasi made this pronouncement after State Attorneys completed all committals to pave the way for the case to be heard at the High Court.

State Attorney Ernest Ayeh detailed how the accused person committed the alleged crime and submitted evidence, including CCTV footage and voice conversations between the suspect and the deceased.

The District Court then ordered the suspect to appear before a High Court for trial, after a prima facie evidence was established.

The suspect was rearrested, soon after proceedings and has been placed into prison custody.

The case has since been adjourned to July 13, for full trial at the High Court.

Meanwhile, Victoria Dapaah’s murder has been widely condemned by many who have joined calls for justice.

Her UK-based father Kofi Bruce Dapaah who was in court for the first time is deeply in pain saying his dreams to get his child to the UK have been shattered.

Furious family members nearly accosted the suspect but police reinforcement tamed the situation.

In a Rambo-style approach, the police whisked away the suspect as the family pelted the team with stones.
