The former aspirant parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress for the Subin constituency and member of the Ashanti regional NDC communication team, Dr. Williams Atta Owusu, has debunked the speculated and misled information that he has resigned from the party after a recent TV engagement with Kessben TV on the 24-hour economy explanations.

The purported news resulted from Ashanti Regional National Democratic Congress communication officer Nurudeen Abass condemning the statement made by Dr Williams Atta Owusu on a political show on Kessben TV.

Dr Willims has released a press statement justifying that, he is still a card-bearing member of the NDC party and has no intention to leave the party about the recent happenings.

“I, Dr. Williams Atta Owusu, have not resigned from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a result of a recent TV engagement with Kessben TV on the 24-hour economy comment, which has since been resolved amicably because formerly the NDC had no opportunity to explain the concept of a 24-hour economy.”

Dr. Owusu said he wanted to clarify that he did not author the purported publication, nor did he assign any such person to do any such thing for and on his behalf  “.

He said, he is a law-abiding person and holds the beliefs and aspirations of (the NDC) party, which will not warrant him making such unwholesome and wild allegations against the NDC party.

Mr Owusu said there is nowhere in the press release that seems to dismiss himself from the NDC, so sees no justification to hurriedly go to the press to make any comments which will tarnish his reputation in the party.

He urges the National Democratic Congress fraternity to disregard and ignore.

That falsehood with the contempt it deserves as such a publication is ill-informed, malicious, and barbaric, intended to damage his image and the hard-earned esteem, reputation, and admiration the party has for him.

He then wishes John Dramani Mahama the next president of Ghana on January 7, 2025, and he will be actively involved in his government.
