Gyakye Quayson petitions GLC against Godfred Dame for ‘“professional misconduct”

 

Assin North Member of Parliament James Gyakye has petitioned the General Legal Council (GLC) against Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame for “professional misconduct”.

He accused Mr Dame of using insulting language against him on 16 June 2023, when his lawyer was drawing the attention of the court that he was a candidate in the Assin North parliamentary by-election.

He said, “This gratuitous insult on the part of the Attorney-General was without any basis and had no place in the trial and, I am advised by my lawyers, is contrary to the Rules of Professional Conduct of lawyers.”
