Former President John Dramani Mahama, has urged government officials to show leadership and genuine commitment towards addressing the current economic challenges of the country by adopting modest, prudent and a consolatory posture in the formulation and implementation of economic policies.
He indicated, the NDC has a plan to resuscitate the economy and reduce the hardships in the country.
The former president was addressing a gathering of chiefs and people of Yakubupe in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah region during their annual Yam Festival.
According to him, government should bury its head in shame for the suffering Ghanaians are going through.
On peace, former president Mahama applauded the Konkomba community for living peacefully with other ethnic groups across the country.
For his part, Chief of the Konkomba community and a member of the Savannah regional house of chiefs Ubor Binda Yakpal II, described the former president as a peace loving person and assured him of his support come 2024.
In a related development, former president John Dramani Mahama has assured the people of Kpanshegu traditional area in the north east Gonja District that the next NDC government in 2025 will see to the completion of an abandoned rural electrification project.
He appealed to the people to continue to demand for their share of the national cake.
