The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the death of three of its officers in an accident which occurred Wednesday.
In a statement, the Service said, With a heavy heart, the Ghana Police Service mourns three of our gallant officers who lost their lives in a fatal accident Wednesday at Kyekyewere along the Accra – Kumasi Highway while on their way for Police operational duties.
Information gathered by uniquenewsgh News indicates the police victims, in a branded Formed Police Unit (FPU) vehicle, were said to be among the police convoy deployed on Wednesday to the Kwahu enclave for the four-day National Paragliding Festival expected to start on Friday.
An eyewitness said the vehicle, after skidding off the Accra-Kumasi highway, somersaulted and plunged into a nearby bush.

Several of the police leaders were at the scene, and the Suhum government hospital transported the deceased to Accra.
The police statement said that, in line with Ghanaian tradition and the Ghana Police Service Regulations, full details will be communicated after the bereaved families are formally informed.
