President of the Ghana Bar Association Yaw Boafo has hit hard on people who attack judges and the judiciary.

He says in the recent past, people have hidden behind political interests to denigrate the image of the judiciary.

He says the judiciary would not be deterred but speak truth to power in consonance with the laws of the country.

Lawyer Yaw Boafo was speaking at this year’s Martyrs Day Celebration in Accra.

The three Justices were abducted from their homes and brutally murdered in cold blood during curfew hours on June 30, 1982.

Their unwavering dedication to the Rule of Law and impartial administration of Justice cost their lives.

30th June each year is set aside to honour the lives of the judges.

Today the Ghana Bar Association and the Judicial Service held a remembrance service for justices Frederick Poku Sarkodee, Mrs Cecilia Afran Koranteng-Addow, Kwadwo Agyei Agyepong and Major (Rtd) Sam Acquah.

Present at the event are President Akufo-Addo and Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, among other distinguished guests.
