Former President John Dramani Mahama promises to scrap ex-gratia

Former President John Mahama has given indication of scrapping the payment of ex gratia to Article 71 Holders and other executives when given the nod by Ghanaians in the 2024 elections

His Excellency the Former President says his government in 2025 would continue the constitutional review process to enable some amendments to the Constitution on the number of Appointees to be appointed.

The Former President speaking at the launch of his campaign as the Flagbearer hopeful in the flagbearer contest also mentioned the commitment to ensuring the independence of all state institutions to carry out their mandate

The Campaign launch was under the theme Building the Ghana We Want.

He also touched on the chaos that characterizes the school selections and placement system.

He hinted of a new process which he believes would ease the frustration students go through and the corruption the process is bedeviled with

It would be recalled that the school selections and placement over the years have been fraught with challenges.

John Mahama is proposing a process where the JHS graduates would select schools after the release of their results so they use their grades to select schools.
