The family of the missing Lands Commission
The 32-year-old Senior Lands Administration Officer has been missing since 2021.
Her husband, Dr. Wilberforce Aggrey, a lecturer at the Petroleum Department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, who is accused of kidnapping his wife, is on trial at the Kumasi High Court.
A third witness was cross-examined by the defense counsel on Monday, November 13 and the process is expected to be completed by the next adjourned date, December 12, 2023.
The Judge, Justice Daniel Obeng, has, however, granted a request by the defense counsel to release the vehicle of the accused, which has been impounded by the police as part of investigations.
The mother of the missing Lands Commission staff, Cecilia Obenewaa Appiah, who looked traumatized after court proceedings, appealed for public support to help find her daughter.
“All these bureaucracies that are going on are not bringing my daughter; I need my daughter. The bottom line is that I need Rhoda. That is why I continue to appeal to all Ghanaians to help us find her.
“We have put a GHC100,000 on Rhoda that whoever finds her or whoever has knowledge about her whereabouts will receive. It has been two years and over. It’s not easy to bear with this situation. I need help”, teary Cecelia Obenewaa pleaded.
In 2022, police prosecutors told the Asokwa district court that their preliminary investigations linked the husband of Rhodamine to a kidnapping note.
Dr. Wilberforce was also accused of using his wife’s phone to send text messages from a spot near his home.
This heightened the suspicion of family and friends of Rhodamine that the husband knows her whereabouts, though he has denied the same.
The family is now looking up to God while also courting public support to help them locate the whereabouts of Rhodamine.
