The Electoral Commission has served notice it cannot supervise the 13th May NDC Congress until all legal actions are settled.

Dr Kwabena Duffour has filed a suit at an Accra High Court seeking an interlocutory injunction on the elections.

Dr Duffour in the suit says abnormalities in the Register for the elections have not been rectified

He is therefore seeking an injunction until the abnormalities are corrected and the register served the aspirants five clear weeks ahead of an election date as specified in the rules of the NDC

It is against this background that the Chairperson of the EC Jean Mensah and other Senior Officers of the Commission met with the Chairman of the NDC General Aseidu Nketiah and leading officers of the NDC to inform them of their stance of not supervising Saturday’s elections.

The EC says it can only supervise the elections when all legal tussles are resolved.

The Accra High Court however would sit on the injunction case on Monday.

As it stands now we await an official statement from the NDC to know the next action concerning the Congress.

Meanwhile, the  NDC has secured a court order for the hearing to be heard on Friday, May 12 instead of Monday, May 15.
