The Electoral Commission has accepted responsibility for the over three thousand illegal transfers of votes in the Ajumako-Enyian-Essiam constituency but says it has since rectified the anomaly and will make copies of the new register to political parties.
Following the conduct of the voter exhibition, concerns were rife over the illegal transfer of voters in some constituencies especially the case of Tamale South and Sagnarigu where some voters were transferred to Pusiga.
Addressing the media in Accra on Monday, deputy commission of the EC, Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, accepted responsibility.
Meanwhile, he has allayed fears that the register is not credible for the conduct of the 2024 polls, asking the public to disregard all forms of false news.
He says Ghanas elections have been highly rated over the years for its credibility and transparency and this year will not be different.
