Election 2024: NPP confirms Dr. Abdul-Kabiru Mahama as Parliamentary Candidate for Walewale

 

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party has unanimously confirmed Dr. Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama as the Party’s parliamentary candidate for the Walewale constituency.

This confirmation follows a meeting held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, by NEC at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The decision comes after the withdrawal of Lariba Zuweira Abudu, incumbent Member of Parliament and one of the two aspirants, from the parliamentary primary contest on Tuesday, September 10.

This resulted in Dr. Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama, becoming the sole aspirant for the contest.

“The Party regards in high esteem, the decision of Hon. Zuweira to bow out of the race and appeals to all stakeholders of the Walewale constituency to offer their unflinching support to the candidacy of Dr. Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama,” a statement from NEC on Wednesday confirmed.
