The two major political parties in the Sekyere Afram Plains district are crying over the inaccessibility of applicants to come over to the district capital, Drobonso registration due to the overflow of Sene rivers and other river bodies in the district.
When Joseph Amoateng visited the centre on day two, witnessed that chairs provided by the electoral commission for the applicants to feel comfortable by joining a queue were empty after those leaving close to the district capital had finished with the registration.
Speaking to the constituency communication officer of NDC, Mr Moro Kabore said that, over 130 out of 179 communities in the district are located in the hinterland which is making it difficult for the applicants to come over to Drobonso in this rainy season and use the opportunity to appeal to the electoral commission revise it note and consider people of the district by providing more registration centres to enable the applicants to get access to registration.
The 1st vice chairman for the ruling party NPP, Mr Sampson Boamah also added that it will be very difficult for those at Anyinofi who have to cross over some river bodies before getting to Atebubu to process to Kumawu and finally Drobonso.
He said this would go against the district to get data on the population of the people in the district for the future.
