This was announced by Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC) Jean Mensa at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, August 17.
The elections are going to place in 6,252 electoral areas and with 38,672 polling stations nationwide.
She assured that details of the elections will be made to the public soon.
“As a commission, we encourage eligible voters to take advantage of voter registration and register to vote.
“We also entreat the citizenry to participate in the district-level elections which will be held on the 19th of December as that is the surest way to ensure development at the local level,” she said.
The EC will conduct national voter registration exercises and district assembly elections without the use of a Ghana card as the sole identification document.
It Says this will be the case until the NIA is fully operational in all districts and has successfully disbursed Ghana cards to all applicants.
