Confirmed: Davido loses 3 year old son Ifeanyi

As of the time this report was filed, information on the circumstances of Ifeanyi’s death was still hazy.

Unconfirmed rumors suggested that Davido’s first child drowned in a swimming pool at his home in the Banana Island district of Lagos State, though this was not confirmed.

After being retrieved from the pool, the three-year-old kid was reportedly taken to a hospital in the Lekki district of the state where one of the attending physicians verified his death.

However, Nigerians—especially fans of entertainment—have been incensed and traumatized by the development ever since the news of Ifeanyi’s alleged death became public knowledge.

A number of famous people have sent cryptic remarks that seem to corroborate Ifeanyi’s passing. Among them are the comedians Ayo Makun and Lasisi Elenu, as well as the radio host Daddy Freeze.

Makun, in an Instagram post early Tuesday, wrote, “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad.”

Daddy Freeze, who went live on Instagram in the early hours of Tuesday morning said, “When the person you love is someone involved it becomes a heavy emotional burden. I am not confirming anything but bear with me I will not be live tonight.”

“Father heal your children’s heart from this agony, empower them in such a dark and cruel period, oh Lord,” Lasisi Elenu added in another post.

Rosemary Afuwape, a reality television personality and actress, wrote on her Instagram account, “My heart can’t take this. This ache is unbearably excruciating. Please accept my sympathies on behalf of Chioma and Davido. There are no words that can ease your hearts. I sincerely apologize for your loss.

As of 1.28am, news of Ifeanyi’s rumored death was the most trending topic on Twitter.

The rumored death, however, emanated from a now-deleted post from actress, Eniola Badmus, late Monday.

Nigerians, while reacting to Badmus’ post, criticised her for leaking such sensitive information to the public.
