C/R:Six boys arrested for defiling two JHS students at Awutu Senya East

Ofaakor police district command has arrested 6 boys for allegedly raping two JHS students of Gada M/A Basic School in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

The report gathered revealed that 4 suspects attend the same school with the victims, and two are in the same class with the victims.

The report says the 5 out of the 6 boys who have been arrested are all 15 years of age; only one who is a town boy called “Bulldog” is 19 years of age.

Sources revealed that the victims, who are all 15 years of age, had closed late, around 6 p.m., from the inter-school Gala competition on Friday, 21st February, 2025.

Together with two suspects who are their classmates, they were going home, and upon reaching the section of the road, some guys came out from the bush harassing the victims sexually on the roadside and later on dragged the two girls into the bush and raped them.

The victims’ parents reported the case to their teachers on Monday, leading to the arrest of two suspects on Wednesday; they also mentioned others’ names, and the police arrested four others, making it six arrests of suspects in total.

Police sources indicate that the suspects are believed to be nine, and the three remaining suspects are on the run as police make efforts for their arrest.

A family member of one of the victims who agreed to speak to journalists off camera with their name hidden for security reasons narrated the incident in detail.
