A disturbing incident has unfolded at Assin Wurakese Camp in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region, leaving a 36-year-old man, Osman, hospitalized.

According to Osman, the dispute began when he purchased a cigarette for 1.20p from a local drinking spot operator, Esi Affumwaa, 43. Osman made a partial payment of Gh¢1, promising to settle the remaining 20 pesewas later.

The next day, Osman returned to the drinking spot, intending to purchase another cigarette and settle his outstanding debt. He paid Gh¢5 to Esi Affumwaa, assuming that the debt would be deducted from the amount.

However, immediately after he attempted to step out of the drinking bar, Esi Affumwaa confronted him, demanding 20 pesewas, sparking a heated argument between the two.

The situation quickly escalated into a violent altercation.

Osman explained to Ghone News Yaw Boagyan that he was hit on the head with a stick, causing him to fall to the ground. Esi Affumwaa and her children then pimpled on him, further exacerbating the situation.

In a shocking turn of events, when Esi Affumwaa’s husband, who was standing unconcerned, later attempted to intervene when the fight became critical, she seized the opportunity to grab Osman’s testicles, pulling them hard and eventually biting them, according to eyewitnesses.

Osman started bleeding profusely, screaming for help until bystanders rushed him to the hospital.

The incident has been reported to the Assin Akropong police station, and an investigation is underway.

Although no arrests have been made yet as of the time of filing this report, the Assin Fosu District Police Commander, ASP Jacob Kumedzro, has assured that his team is taking swift action to apprehend all perpetrators to face the full force of the law.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Osman is currently receiving medical attention at the hospital, and his condition is being closely monitored.

The incident has left the community in shock, with many calling for justice to be served.
