As part of the membership drive activities of the Ghana Journalists Association, Ashanti Regional Branch executives of the Association have begun a tour of some selected media houses in Kumasi.
The executives, led by Regional Chairman Kofi Adu Domfeh, visited the EIB Network, where they held fruitful discussions with Mr Kojo Marfo, a seasoned journalist and Programmes Manager for Abusua FM.
Mr Kofi Adu Domfeh enumerated several initiatives the new executives of GJA have for its members, which include refresher trainings.
On his part, Mr Kojo Marfo stressed the need for a formidable GJA at the regional level to ensure a new generation of journalists will have seniors to look up to in their profession.
He touched on the need to push for the unionisation of the GJA to be able to move for good working conditions for journalists.

The GJA executives also visited Pure FM and had insightful engagement with Mr Kwame Adinkrah and other staff of the Association. He assured the Association of the Station’s support in its membership drive.
The final media house visited was Akoma FM.
Head of Station Ransford Nana Osei Asare was elated that the Association has a new face and also touched on the welfare and training of members to be abreast with trends in the journalism profession.

Mr Kofi Domfeh, in the interactions with the managers of the media houses visited, appealed to them to encourage journalists in their companies to register to be members of the Association to have a strong, formidable Association.
He was accompanied on the media tour by Regional Secretary Beatrice Spio-Garbrah.
