Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have announced the departure of starman Steven Dese Mukwala from the club following the expiration of his contract.
official club statement on social media reads; “Steven Mukwala leaves Kotoko upon expiration of his contract.
“The club is grateful for the moments shared and wishes him the best for the future.”
The 24-year-old joined the Porcupine Warriors on a two-year contract from KCCA FC and has been very outstanding since his arrival. He will be counted among the few foreigners to have made a mark at the club.
In a video shared on his social platform, Mukwala thanked everyone associated with the club, including the King, Asantehene.
”I am Glad to have been part of a profound family. I hold you dearly in my heart.” said the player.
In the just-ended season, Mukwala scored 14 goals, delivered 2 assists in 28 matches, and finished as the second joint-top scorer in the just-finished Ghana Premier League season.
Steven Mukwala, is expected to join a new club very soon and has already been linked to clubs like Tanzanian giants Simba SC, Moldovan champions Petrocub FC, and others.
The enterprising striker has been with the Uganda national team since 2019 and has made almost 20 appearances. He was recently on target in a 2-2 draw against the Black Stars in an international friendly months ago.
