Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong has said investigative journalist Ahmed Suale was a bad man.
He said Sual’s own deeds caused his death.
Speaking with Roland Walker on TV3’s New Day Wednesday, August 16, 2023, Ken Agyapong who is also a flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) said: “He was a bad man. I won’t change my stance on him because I want to be President. His own deeds caused his death, not me.”
His utterance was in response to a question posed to him that his exposure of Ahmed Suale on TV caused his death.
Ahmed Hussein-Suale, an undercover journalist with Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s Tiger Eye PI team was shot by unknown gunmen at Madina, a suburb of Accra in January 2021.
Kennedy Agyapong displayed a picture of Mr Suale on his television network, NET2 TV, prior to his gruesome murder and ordered his workers to beat him up if they found him around. He noted he was ready to bear the consequences of the outcome if they attacked him.
The exposure and threats came up after the Tiger Eye PI team had released their Number 12 investigative work which unveiled some rots in the football industry. The said investigation indicted then President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, who was subsequently dismissed and sanctioned by FIFA.
He later promised to reward anyone who has information on the killers with GHC100,000.00.
Meanwhile, Mr Suale’s family debunked Ken Agyapong’s assertion that Ahmed fell out with his boss, Anas Aremeyaw Anas just before his murder.
Ken Agyapong threatened to release more videos of Ahmed Suale if his family had not stopped organizing “silly” press conferences about him.
