Black Stars coach Otto Addo insists that qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations remains in Ghana’s control, despite a 1-1 draw against Niger on Monday.
The result leaves Ghana five points behind group leaders Angola after two games in the AFCON qualifying series.
Addo’s side conceded a late equalizer, marking another disappointing result following their 1-0 defeat to Angola.
“I’m disappointed we didn’t learn the lessons from the home defeat to Angola, and we need to do better, for sure,” Addo said.
“Qualification is still in our own hands, and we can do something about it. We will, however, have to win our remaining games.”
Ghana sits in third place, two points behind second-placed Sudan, whom they will face twice in October.
The top two teams in the group will qualify for AFCON, which is set for December 2025 to January 2026.
The Black Stars last missed out on AFCON qualification in 2004.
